Artisanale Benaulim
Benaulim is a little seaside village, in the South of Goa, with beaches of the adjacent villages, all strung together. Venturing about a 1km on either side of the main walkways, leads you into virgin land. Our Benaulim home has much of its architecture, design, and furniture from the colonial period with some modern sensibilities in the kitchen and bathrooms. The large walkthrough French windows in the living room, delicate ornamentation in the rooms and crystal chandelier in the bedroom provide classic grace and elegance to the house. Having our efficient and approachable housekeeper, Santan, at hand to handle the daily chores about the house, makes the day sublime. Once the pesty mosquitoes aren’t busy around your heels, about evening twilight hours, indulging on your favourite white in the balconies under the night sky are a delight and a rare reprieve from busy schedules.
What we have to offer at Artisanale Benaulim
One feels wonderful to stare up at the 20 ft ceiling above you with its exposed woodwork, walk through arched doorways, sit on era furniture or stretch on the verandah overlooking the garden. When we stay here, the kitchen takes centre focus.. the large dining table in here has always been our focus, its lets me work at the chopping and cutting and frying and allows me the space to intermittently answer my mails with my third eye out the door at the kids and my nieces in the yard. The kitchen is equipped with every conceivable appliance. It includes a mixer/ grinder, 450 lt fridge, microwave, toaster, washing machine, oven, barbecue set and a pot and pan for every type of dish. We provide the cutlery, crockery and required table ware for 6.We have 2 AC bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen sized bed and is well ventilated, it overlooks a little enclosed open area. The other more majestic bedroom overlooks our courtyard, is large enough to fit a Tokyo size apartment, has an internet cable line and has good access to the wifi router. The linen on the beds are provided, with 4 large pillows on each bed.The living room cum dining area is large and overlooks a large quiet garden and the paved drive way. The garden has my dad's favorite Anthurium potted plants and his recently acquired fondness to about 12 of the available 36 varieties of the Haliconia plant.
